How It Works

Looking for a quick, focused solution to your dog’s training needs? Our 1-Week Board and Train Program is the perfect option for owners who want results on a budget. During this 7-day program, your dog will live in our trainer’s home, where they’ll get plenty of exposure to different environments, socialization with other dogs, and tons of hands-on training.

What’s Included:
  • 2 Focused Behaviors: You’ll choose 2 behaviors to focus on, like recall and heel, and we’ll work on these intensively for the week.

  • Immersive Training: Your dog will live with the trainer in a real-world environment, getting exposure to everyday distractions and learning in multiple settings, such as the home, park, stores, and more.

  • Daily Video Updates: We’ll send you daily videos to show progress and explain training methods so you can follow along.

  • Take-Home Packet: At the end of the week, you’ll receive a detailed homework packet to continue reinforcing your dog’s training at home.

  • Socialization: Your dog will get plenty of opportunities to interact with other dogs, people, and environments to help build confidence.

What’s Not Included:
  • Owner Training: This program focuses solely on the dog’s training, so there’s no direct owner training during the week.

  • Reactivity Cases: Due to the intensive nature of this program, we can’t accommodate dogs with high reactivity or aggression. An evaluation is required before starting the program.

Why Choose the 1-Week Board and Train?

This program is a great option for owners on a budget who still want to see meaningful improvements in their dog’s behavior. It’s especially helpful for those looking to tackle 2 specific behaviors like recall or heel, while gaining valuable exposure and socialization for their dog. If you’re looking for a focused training solution without the need for a full 30-day commitment, this is the ideal choice.

Example Communication with Pet Parent:

Note: The dog's name is changed to "Rover" for privacy.

Trainer: Hi there! Sharing a quick update about Rover from today. He did amazing! Here’s a video of him working on recall in the backyard with some of the other client dogs who are here for training. [Video sent]

Rover's Fam: Oh my goodness, this is so great! He looks so happy out there running and romping around.

Trainer: He really was! He had a blast playing and socializing, but he also nailed coming back when called. We worked on recall multiple times throughout the day and he was super consistent.

Rover's Fam: That’s awesome to hear. Thank you so much!

Trainer: You’re welcome! Tomorrow we will take him to the park to practice on a long lead with new distractions, but we’ll also keep working here with the other dogs.

Trainer: And don’t worry—everything is super safe with our big fenced yard, and we always have our Smith Rock K9 AirTag on for added peace of mind.

Rover's Fam: Amazing! I can’t wait to see how he does tomorrow.

Trainer: He’s doing great—I think you’ll be really proud of him. I’ll send you another update after tomorrow’s session! 😊

Compare Training Cost Options

Price Comparison:
  • 7 Days of Boarding at $75/day = $525. Boarding only provides a place to stay without the structured training you need.

  • 7 Days of Day Training at $200/day = $1,400. While effective, this is much more expensive and still lacks the immersive, full-time training experience.

  • 4 Private Training Sessions (1 Hour each) at $200 per session = $800. Private training is a great option but doesn’t provide the level of intensive focus and socialization that our 1-Week Board and Train offers.

1-Week Board and Train = $1,000 for 7 days of full immersion, hands-on training and exposure to new environments, with daily updates and a take-home packet.
