Professional Training

At Smith Rock K9, we provide a few types of training. We offer free evaluations to see which of our programs will best meet your needs because every dog is an individual. Our services are ordered below from most flexible to most complete:

  1. Training Walks - A trainer walks your dog, providing exercise and training.

  2. Private Training - A trainer teaches you to work with your dog in a private session.

  3. Combo Training (Private Training & Training Walks) - A trainer walks your dog once a week and provides an owner-training session once a week.

  4. Day Training - School for dogs. Your dog is with us up to 4 days a week while you work, getting training and socialization, and home while you are home. More complete than combo training but not as complete as a board and train. Drop in available.

  5. 30-Day Board and Train - A white-glove, done-for-you service. Your dog is fully trained in 30 days. Owner participation is required for the last week of training.

  6. 5-Week Reactivity Reset - An intensive board and train program for dogs with reactivity. For example, dogs who lunge at other dogs on the leash, snap at their dog siblings, growl when asked to get down from the couch, snarl when you interrupt feeding, etc.

Dog Boarding

We take just a few dogs at a time for our in-home dog boarding. We have 6 foot fences, a dog wading pool, and a spacious lawn for happy doggos. We have temperature monitors and cameras for added safety. Every dog is equipped with an AirTag on arrival. Your dogs are treated as a member of our family for their stay and get to do normal family life when they are with us, like watching tv and hanging out while we cook. We send photo/video updates every day to show that your dog is happy and healthy (eating well, drinking well, pottying normally, having fun). We have many repeat customers because dogs enjoy their vacation, getting to socialize with dog friends. We offer much more outside play time and petting time than a pet resort. As an added bonus, are happy to provide training tune-ups during your dog's stay, which is why our boarding is called 'Board and Maintain'. $75/day. $65 for second dog. â€‹

Volunteer Work

Our trainers have extensive experience fostering rescue dogs. At any given time, we have 1-2 dogs available for adoption. Fostering gives us the opportunity to work with a great range of breeds and ages of dogs so we can provide top-tier, professional training for our clients. We also love dogs and want to help coordinate placement for dogs who might have a difficult time getting adopted from a shelter. Post Covid, many shelters are overcrowded and struggling to get dogs with even minor obedience issues adopted. As part of our business outreach we partner with local organizations to help with dogs in need.
